WHAT IS KAMBO?

Kambo is the secretion from the Giant Monkey Tree Frog, or scientifically called the Phyllomedusa Bicolor. The frog thrives in abundance in the Amazon Rainforest where the secretion is harvested by the indigenous Matsés tribes of Peru.

The Matsés ethically and sustainably extract the secretion from the frog and place it on a short bamboo stick that is later dried and wrapped in a corn leaf. The frog is never harmed during the process. The Matsés believe that harming the frog brings forth extreme misfortune. Kambo is completely legal worldwide except in Brazil where it is prohibited to advertise the frog.

THE USES OF KAMBO

The main indigenous use of Kambo is in dissolving “Panema” which is believed to be bad luck, depression, laziness, disease, or negative influences trapped in the energy field of the individual. Men use Kambo the day prior to enhance their hunting capabilities and power to an extraordinary level giving them a sense of invisibility.

In general, Kambo is used as a vaccine to ward off illness, snake bites, fevers, infections, infertility, increase energy, boost the immune system, stamina, reduce pain, to cleanse, detox and strengthen the body, mind, and spirit.

In the West, after four decades of medical research, Kambo continues to be studied for its numerous bioactive peptides that aid in the biological transformation for various conditions and ailments.

Researchers found that the peptides in Kambo has the potential uses to treat severe pain, chronic illness, fatigue, anxiety, hepatitis, diabetes, cancer, HIV, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, depression, arthritis, vascular problems, migraines, infertility, addictions to illegal or pharmaceuticals drugs, and much more.

Kambo is one of the strongest natural antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, anesthetic, and immune enhancer substance in the world. It also detoxes the liver and the intestines so it’s a powerful cleanser.

Immediate and short term effects include enhanced mood, alertness, clarity, focus, energy and increased resistance to stress, tiredness, hunger and thirst. The Science of Kambo

There are currently over 70 patents worldwide on peptides that have been found in Kambo. Some of the peptides found so far are as follows:

Phyllocaerulein – A natural painkiller that modifies satiety and sedation, reduces blood pressure and affects thermoregulation.

Phyllokinin – This neuropeptide causes a long lasting reduction in blood pressure.

Dermorphin – In the Sauvagine family of peptides, Dermorphin has an opiate like effect on mu-opioid receptors, has potent pain-killing properties and has been found to be 30-40 times stronger than morphine.

Dermaseptin – has powerful antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeast, fungi, protozoa, and enveloped viruses that often cause severe opportunistic infections, particularly those accompanying use of immunosuppressive agents.

Dermaseptin B2/Adenoregulin – A 33 amino acid peptide that works with the adenosine receptor. This antimicrobial peptide has been show to be very effective in destroying cancer cells.

Deltorphin – Deltorphin is a potent painkiller and has a higher affinity and selectivity for delta-opiod binding sites than any other natural compound yet known.

Phyllomedusin – A neuropeptide that is a powerful Vasodilator and has a strong effect on tear ducts, salivary glands, intestines and bowels. This peptide contributes to the purging usually experienced when taking Kambo.

Tryptophyllins – This peptide has been found to be highly potent against the yeast candida albicans, and is being researched for cardiovascular, anti-inflammatory and anticancer therapy.

The Kambo I use

The Kambo I offer during our sessions are sustainably and ethically harvested by the Matsés tribe in Peru. All IAKP practitioners donate a portion of the payment from each Kambo session to the Matsés which helps them to buy necessities and to secure their land. The population of these frogs are not threatened, however, the land they live on is by deforestation. These donations collectively made by the IAKP help to secure the Matsés culture, sacred land, and also preserves the habitat of Kambo.
